ODS.CZ - (Hradec Daily) In an online interview, Martin Červíček, a candidate for regional governor of the Hradec Králové region for the "Strong Leaders for the Region" party, and also a candidate for the Senate in the Náchod district, answered questions from readers of the newspaper. All questions from the readers and Martin Červíček's answers can be found on the website www.denik.cz.

What frustrates you in the region?

The failure of health insurance companies to ensure a sufficient number of doctors, pediatricians, and dentists in our region's primary care network. And the persistent, drawn-out decision-making processes in public procurement related to transportation infrastructure, which we are most acutely experiencing with the construction of the D11 highway.

How do you plan to stabilize healthcare personnel to prevent them from leaving hospitals?

Healthcare personnel in our hospitals have been stable for the past four years. For example, we have 150 more employees than in the previous period, and we have reduced the hospitals' debt. Compensation for healthcare workers has increased by 27% for doctors and 11% for nurses. We are investing heavily in district hospitals, both for the benefit of our patients and for our healthcare workers, so they can provide modern medicine even in district hospitals. We have a stable network of healthcare facilities. We regularly discuss sustainability and potential development with health insurance companies. We offer scholarships to students who will complete internships in our region after graduation.

Are the investments in roads adequate?

In the past eight years, we have invested an average of 1.2 billion crowns per year, which is three times more than before 2017. The capacity and ability to invest could potentially be increased to approximately 2 billion crowns per year if we find additional sources of funding. We have projects prepared with a total value of 7 billion crowns. It is also important to remember that the state is also investing significantly in our region, thanks to our pressure and efforts in negotiations.

How do you plan to balance the roles of regional governor and senator?

If you are accustomed to working hard, you can maximize your time, you have managerial skills, and you have capable colleagues, then it is definitely possible. I received the trust of the voters to be the regional governor when I had already been a senator for two years. I have used both functions and their combination solely for the prosperity of the region, and it is demonstrable that, thanks to this connection, we have not only overcome all crises but have also achieved significant solutions in many areas. I do not receive a full salary for both positions. I do not steal. I have no debts or legal judgments against me. I am not involved in any private companies. I have never misused public funds for personal gain. As a regional governor, I am well aware of the problems and priorities in the various areas of public administration in our region, as well as the specific aspects that are important for solving them. As a senator, in addition to the ability to influence the legislative process during discussions in committees or in the Senate plenary, I often use the opportunity for personal negotiations with ministers or the prime minister, regardless of the government in power, where, as a regional governor, I would not be able to achieve my goals or where the process would be much longer.
