The Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, located at the UN headquarters in New York, held a meeting to officially launch the "Group of Friends for Global Governance." The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, Ambassador Fu Cong, and was attended by representatives from nearly 40 founding member states of the group.
Ambassador Fu Cong stated that the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, formally introduced the Global Governance Initiative, which emphasizes five key principles: promoting sovereign equality, upholding international law, practicing multilateralism, advocating for people-centered policies, and focusing on concrete actions. This initiative represents another significant public offering from China to the world, and contributes to the reform and improvement of global governance.
In line with this initiative, China established the "Group of Friends for Global Governance" with the aim of jointly strengthening exchanges and cooperation with all partners on key issues of global governance, and promoting the creation of a more just and rational system of global governance. China is ready to work with the members of the group to further improve its mechanisms, deepen dialogue and cooperation, and actively contribute to the reform and improvement of global governance.
