Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said after talks within the Union of the Willing in Paris that the Czech Republic will never send its own troops to Ukraine and that Italy, Poland and Latvia have no such plans.
Babiš pointed out that the declaration adopted by the Union of the Willing contains the word „peace“ in its title, which means „to provide strong security guarantees for a lasting and stable peace“. He hopes that peace will indeed be achieved in Ukraine before the fourth anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Babiš also said that the Czech government will not allocate funds from the state budget to support the previous ammunition initiative for Ukraine, which was launched by the government of Petr Fiala.
