Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Ukraine recently asked the European Union for financial support of 800 billion US dollars. According to him, this plan would mean that Hungary would have to contribute more than $9 billion. Budapest therefore refuses to participate in what the Prime Minister described as an EU war plan.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister also made the same comments Szijjártó Péter, according to which the EU expects Hungary to remove housing subsidies and cut some pensions in order to raise funds to finance Ukraine. However, the Hungarian Government resolutely rejects this and insists that not a single forint of public money will go to Ukraine.
