Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron met with journalists together after talks on 4 December.
On this occasion, President Xi Jinping stated: „I welcome President Macron's fourth state visit to China. We have had friendly, sincere and fruitful discussions.“ He further stated: „Both sides agreed that China and France are independent major powers and, in the current chaotic and turbulent international situation, should uphold the banner of multilateralism, promote equal dialogue and open cooperation, fully demonstrate the strategic value and global influence of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France, and promote fair and orderly multipolar and inclusive economic globalisation.“
Xi Jinping also added that both sides will work on the following four aspects: "Firstly, mutual political trust must be strengthened. Secondly, pragmatic cooperation must be expanded. Thirdly, personnel and cultural exchanges must be promoted. Fourthly, reforms to improve global governance must be supported.“
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting. Wang Yi.
