Their trip is to show their continued support for Ukraine in its war with Russia. They will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"From day one of our mandate, we have reaffirmed our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine." the former Portuguese prime minister said on the social network X, next to a photo of him with Kallas and the new euro upon his arrival in KievCommissioner for Enlargement Marta Kosová.
According to DPA, EU leaders in Kiev will discuss the continuation of humanitarian, financial, military and diplomatic support. They will also discuss the current situation in Ukraine and its path towards the EU.
