The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China met on Friday to discuss the 20th Central Committee's disciplinary report focusing on provinces, autonomous regions and cities directly under the central government. The meeting was chaired by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
At the meeting, it was noted that the fifth and sixth rounds of inspections under the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had completed full coverage of provinces.
While provincial-level authorities have made new progress in their work, inspections have also revealed various problems that must be taken seriously and addressed with firm determination, the meeting stated.
It is essential to thoroughly implement corrective measures and strengthen routine supervision, the meeting emphasised, adding that the corrections should be integrated into both the study and implementation of the main principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and into the planning of economic and social development for the next five years.
The meeting emphasised that party committees in all regions at the provincial level should ensure the implementation of the main decisions and measures of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
They were also urged to improve mechanisms for evaluating officials, tighten oversight of senior officials, strengthen regulation and oversight of the allocation and exercise of power, and maintain high pressure on the fight against corruption.
