Ukraine removed some of Russia's demands from the key points last month, but the fighting continues. On Friday evening, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy and transport infrastructure and a Patriot missile storage facility. According to the army, 653 drones and 51 missiles were launched.
Zelensky said that the attack was primarily aimed at the energy sector, and accused Moscow of trying to „weaponise winter“ by restricting heat and electricity supplies to civilians.
Meanwhile, talks between American and Ukrainian officials in Florida are continuing for the third day. The Trump administration is pushing Kyiv to accept the American peace plan, even though Vladimir Putin He has already rejected some parts of it – in particular the issue of Ukraine's territorial integrity and security guarantees.
Zelensky said over the weekend that he had a „very constructive“ phone call with Witkoff and Jared Kushner. According to him, the talks focused on steps that could bring an end to the war.
