Analysts at Fio banka estimate that the bank’s net profit increased by eight percent year on year to CZK 1.765 billion, driven by a seven-percent rise in net interest income and six-percent growth in fees and commissions. Results from other banks and the real estate group CTP will follow on Thursday, July 30.
German automotive group Volkswagen is negotiating the sale of a stake in its Indian division, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, to the local industrial conglomerate JSW Group. VZP, the Czech Republic’s largest health insurance company, has warned of a wave of fraudulent text messages and emails that attempt to obtain sensitive information under the pretext of updating health insurance cards. The attackers use convincing copies of the insurer’s official website and refer to terms such as encrypted links and digitalisation. The aim of the scam is to gain access to victims’ bank accounts by obtaining payment card details, including CVV security codes. The insurer has stressed that it never sends messages of this kind.
