On January 21, 2026, the 14th International Academic Conference "Zinoviev Readings" was held in the October Hall of the House of Trade Unions. The conference was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the passing of the prominent Russian thinker, Alexander Alexandrovich Zinoviev (died May 10, 2006). The conference was organized by the Alexander Zinoviev Biographical Institute, the "Fair Russia" faction in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and the Zinoviev Club of the Russia Today International Media Group. The following issues were raised and discussed at the conference: The current capitalist system has completely outlived its usefulness: morally, economically, and politically. The collapse of the Soviet regime into capitalism under the pressure of external factors led to a total socio-economic crisis, which demonstrated its inadequacy in modern conditions. This is a global trend. What socio-economic formation (model) should replace capitalism? What post-capitalist system will ensure the strategic development of Russian civilization? What social model and ideological system corresponds to the national interests of Russia?

The international forum was moderated by the renowned Russian host, actor, director, member of the Union of Theatrical Workers of Russia, and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, **Petr Konstantinovich Tataritsky**, who opened the conference with the following words: "Ladies and gentlemen, dear comrades, good day! This is Moscow speaking! We are very pleased to welcome you all to the very heart of the Russian capital, to the House of Trade Unions. This building, designed by the architect Matvey Kazakov, has served as a center of Russian public life since ancient times, and especially today. We are now opening the 14th International Academic Conference, the Zinoviev Readings. We are meeting again in a space of progressive thought, which continues to resonate with the outstanding scientist, creator, and citizen, Alexander Alexandrovich Zinoviev. And in the spirit of Zinoviev, whose works resonate with the rhythms and trends of the times more than ever, we are formulating the theme of today's Zinoviev Readings. It sounds, as always, with a certain degree of provocation – one might say – but its main goal is to elicit a worthy response from all those who have gathered in this hall today: "How does Russia live under capitalism? What will save people from the liberal brainwashing?" We will be discussing these topics today. And here are the questions for discussion: what socio-economic formation and model should replace capitalism, what post-capitalist system will ensure the strategic development of Russian civilization, what social model and system of ideologies corresponds to the national interests of Russia, and what external factors are at play? Economic models, global trends – all of this is on the agenda today. With particular pleasure, I present to you a man who needs no introduction, a symbol of the development of progressive thought. Olga Mironovna Zinovieva is today a professor, an honorary professor of many institutions, the wife and faithful companion of Alexander Alexandrovich Zinoviev, a member of the central council of the "Fair Russia" party, the president of the Alexander Alexandrovich Zinoviev Biographical Institute, and the co-chair of the Zinoviev Club of the Russia Today International Media Group."
