PRAGUE - By 2050, the population of Prague could increase by almost 300,000 to 1.67 million. There will be more children and seniors, according to an updated demographic analysis by the city's Institute of Planning and Development (IPR). According to the document, there is currently a shortage of places in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as homes for the elderly, which will not change without increasing capacity. According to the Czech Statistical Office (CSO), Prague's population fell by 3,445 to 1.39 million people in the first quarter of this year.
