European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Maroš Šefčovič, stated that the EU will retain various options regarding U.S. tariffs on imports of products from the EU.
According to him, the U.S. tariffs are very unfair, and during the ninety-day postponement of so-called "reciprocal tariffs" for some U.S. trading partners, the EU will prepare for potential high tariffs imposed on European products.
CMG/gnews.cz"We must emphasize that the U.S. tariffs are unfair and unjust. If negotiations with the U.S. do not yield a satisfactory result, we are prepared with alternative solutions to restore fair trade conditions. Therefore, we will use the ninety-day postponement to prepare further compensatory measures in response to high U.S. tariffs on exports from the EU, and to ensure a fair competitive environment in the long term," Šefčovič said.
