President Petr Pavel will attend a government meeting on Monday. According to the communication department of the presidential office, the reason for the meeting is to discuss the coordination of the participation of constitutional officials in high-level meetings of international organizations.

In recent months, the government and the president have been arguing about the composition of the Czech delegation to the NATO summit in Ankara in July. Pavel insists on his participation, while Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) previously stated that the president should not be part of the delegation.

The cabinet promised a decision on the composition of the delegation on Monday, June 8th. However, Babiš said on Monday that the government will revisit the issue in the second half of June, after a meeting that Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna (of the SPD) will hold regarding the summit.
