The 17th Summer World Economic Forum was inaugurated in the Chinese city of Dalian on June 23. This year's summer forum focuses on the theme of "Innovation at Scale" to find the key to revitalizing the global economy.

The foundation of innovation at scale lies in long-term, stable investments in research and development, and effective commercialization. In 2025, China's total social spending on research and development reached 3.92 trillion yuan, with the share of R&D in GDP increasing to 2.8%. The volume of technological contracts exceeded 7.57 trillion yuan, the commercialization of corporate patent inventions increased to 54%, and the export of advanced technology products accounted for nearly 30% of the total export of goods.
