NEW YORK, June 10. Iranian radars, air defense systems, and ground command centers near the Strait of Hormuz have been targeted by U.S. military strikes, according to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
“U.S. Central Command forces conducted strikes against Iran on June 9, at the direction of the Supreme Commander, in response to yesterday's downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter,” the statement reads.
“CENTCOM forces struck Iranian air defense systems, ground command and control centers, and surveillance radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz with precision-guided munitions from U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft. The operation was a proportionate response to recent attacks on U.S. forces and international shipping vessels transiting the region. U.S. forces remain vigilant and are prepared to defend against further Iranian aggression,” CENTCOM stated.
