China has begun construction of a revolutionary maglev train that can reach speeds of 1,000 km/h - outperforming even transport aircraft.
A train powered by superconducting magnetic levitation will "hover" in a zero-contact tunnel, minimizing friction and maximizing speed. It will run on an extended Maglev line from Changsha in Hunan and aims to outperform China's current high-speed trains by more than 400km/h. Engineers are also laying special cables to ensure stable high-speed internet during the ride.
