PRAGUE - Otto Placht - The Fleeting Eternity of Amazonia is a long-awaited group exhibition of one of the most original personalities of the Czech art scene of the last thirty years.
The unique spaces of the Municipal House in Prague will present for the first time a comprehensive selection of large-format works inspired by the artist's life in the Peruvian part of the Amazon, in direct contact with the unlimited power of nature and the forces of the jungle. Otto Placht's paintings will captivate visitors with their highly decorative emphasis, which also incorporates an understanding of the mythology and spiritual symbols of the local indigenous Shipibo Indian culture.
The fascinating presence of the spirit of the Amazon resonates especially in the large units that Placht has painted, using self-made paints made from tree bark and various plants. The works on display at the Municipal House not only bring aesthetic impressions, but also arouse interest through the symbolism contained and the question posed about humanity's ability to contain its material and spiritual needs in a harmonious relationship with nature.
Otto Placht has been capturing the spirit of the Amazon jungle in his paintings since the 1990s. Poetic shots of nature are replaced by the harsh reality of the city. Screenshot of Jungle Placht presents the creative process in Prague interiors and a studio built right in the Amazon rainforest. Children up to 10 years of age and accompanying persons with disabilities are admitted free of charge.
Admission can only be purchased at the historic Municipal House box office, which is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The price of a regular ticket to the exhibition is 90 CZK per student (school groups of more than 10 students). Teaching accompaniment of each group has free admission -
