PRAGUE - MPs will return on Wednesday to discussing a new law on housing support to help people at risk of housing distress. The aim is to create a functional system of support for affordable housing, including clearly defined rules for municipalities and the state administration.
Also on the agenda is a vote on the draft law on lobbying, which is intended to establish rules for transparent negotiations between lobbyists and public officials. If approved, the law will introduce an obligation to register lobbyists and rules for recording meetings. Another important point concerns a social amendment tabled by the opposition ANO and SPD movements. This proposes an increase in certain care allowances for people with disabilities, particularly those with higher levels of dependency.
In the first reading phase, the Chamber will also consider tightening the migration and asylum rules. The coalition is responding to the new EU migration pact and proposing amendments to Czech legislation in line with European agreements.
