WASHINGTON, July 5. U.S. President Donald Trump believes that the situation surrounding Ukraine is very complex.

“We talked about various things. We had a very good conversation, I think a very strategic one,” the U.S. leader told reporters in a statement regarding his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on July 4. “It's a rather complicated situation,” he said at a White House press conference.

Trump also noted that he was "very unhappy" with his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 3. "He wants to go all the way," the U.S. leader said, expressing doubts about Moscow's willingness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. "That's not good," he emphasized.

On July 2, the New York Times, citing its sources, reported that Washington would suspend the delivery of several weapons to Kyiv, including Patriot anti-aircraft missiles, GMLRS precision-guided munitions, Hellfire guided missiles, and Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems. At the same time, on July 3, Trump stated that Washington continues to provide military assistance to Kyiv, but also believes that Washington itself needs the weapons.

During a phone call with Trump on July 3, Putin said that Moscow is still awaiting the dates for a new round of negotiations with the Kyiv regime. According to Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov, the issue of ending the supply of weapons to Kyiv by Washington was not discussed during the conversation between the leaders of Russia and the United States.
