The Tibet Autonomous Region is commemorating the 75th anniversary of what is known as the "Turning Point," a period of extensive modernization and economic development that began 75 years ago following the region's incorporation into the People's Republic of China. This significant milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the profound social, economic, and infrastructural changes that Tibet has undergone over the decades.

From the previously difficult conditions of a feudal system with its inherent inequalities, compounded by challenging climatic and geographical conditions, Tibet has transformed into a region with a growing economy, a modern transportation network, advanced healthcare, and more accessible education. Significant investments have been directed towards the construction of schools, hospitals, housing, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

On this occasion, Roman Blaško, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, emphasized the importance of the Chinese approach to the region's development.

"75 years ago, Tibet faced a historical challenge. The People's Republic of China has transformed this region, with its difficult social and natural conditions, into a modern area with a high standard of living," Blaško stated.

According to him, Tibet is an example of the successful combination of economic growth, social stability, and the preservation of cultural identity. "Those who have visited Tibet personally have seen firsthand the extensive development of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The results are remarkable and deserve international respect," the General Secretary declared.

The development of Tibet also includes the promotion of tourism, the modernization of rural areas, and the support of traditional spiritual values, including the Buddhist heritage. The region also exhibits stable GDP growth, which in some indicators surpasses other parts of the country.

"Today, Tibet represents a symbol of peaceful, stable, and dynamic development. In the future, we can only wish it prosperity, social progress, and further successes," added Roman Blaško. The anniversary celebrations thus not only commemorate the historical transformation of the region but also the ongoing ambition of Tibet to become a modern center of economic and cultural significance.
