On the morning of June 29th, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the state-owned Diaoyutai Hotel in Beijing.

During the meeting, Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Belarus are true friends who trust and support each other. He described them as good partners for common development and prosperity, as well as comprehensive strategic partners "in all weathers."

According to the Chinese president, China-Belarus relations have stood the test of international changes and have seen significant development in recent years. He said that relations between the two countries are at their best period in history. Political trust is strong, the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded concrete results, key cooperation projects are progressing steadily, and cooperation at the multilateral level is also effective.

Xi Jinping stated that deepening all-round cooperation between China and Belarus is in line with the trend of historical development and is in the fundamental interests of both peoples. He said that both countries should maintain strategic communication, promote the further development of bilateral relations at a high level, and better serve the people of both countries.

The Chinese president also reiterated that China supports Belarus in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as in pursuing development that is appropriate to its own national conditions. He added that China is ready to continue to provide assistance to Belarus in its development and construction, within its capabilities.

According to Xi Jinping, both countries should make better use of their resources to support the Belt and Road Initiative and further expand practical cooperation. He said that China is willing to work with Belarus to build a community with a shared future for mankind, implement the four global initiatives, and strengthen coordination within the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and other multilateral mechanisms.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed full agreement with the assessment of bilateral relations. He said that China is Belarus's strategic partner in all weathers, and that practical cooperation between the two countries is extensive and profound. He said that it significantly supports the economic and social development of Belarus.

According to Lukashenko, Belarus attaches great importance to its relations with China and wants to further strengthen strategic communication, expand areas of cooperation, and promote the further development of bilateral relations. Lukashenko also said that President Xi Jinping's four global initiatives contribute to the political resolution of hotspots and are important for world peace, stability, and prosperity.

He said that Belarus is ready to continue to maintain close coordination with China on international and regional issues, and to jointly promote world and regional peace, development, and stability.

The meeting was also attended by Wang Yi.
