Liu Bina, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, co-chaired a new round of consultations on strategic stability between China and Russia.
Both sides had in-depth discussions on the current situation regarding global strategic stability and multilateral military control, and reached a broad consensus.
Both sides agreed that the current global strategic stability faces serious challenges. Russia and China, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation, firmly support multilateral principles, actively maintain the authority and effectiveness of international arms control treaties and mechanisms, and thus contribute to maintaining global strategic stability and promoting peace and security in the world.
