While China is pushing for a diplomatic solution, Filip doubts Donald Trump's readiness to negotiate.
The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East has far-reaching consequences that go beyond the region itself, according to Vojtěch Filip. The former Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament and current Chairman of the Board of the Czech-Chinese Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry warns of the impact on the world economy.
„The question of how the relationship between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China will continue to evolve, given that the aggression of Israel and the United States on Iran is essentially constraining the global economy, is quite relevant at this time,“ said Filip.
According to Filip, China is playing a constructive role in this situation. „The People's Republic of China has clearly stated that its interest is economic growth and sustainable growth,“ he recalled, adding that the current conflict is damaging to all sides. „This conflict is complicating economic relations both to the west and to the east, and in particular it is limiting not just the supply of oil, but the supply of essential components for production, both in the chemical, food and, of course, energy industries.“
Filip also warned of threats to the supply of key technologies. „Needless to say, the chip supply for the entire world is also at risk,“ he stated.
