On September 3, China Media Group (CMG) will broadcast a grand rally commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, along with a military parade, to a global audience in 85 languages.
To enhance international coverage of these commemorative events, CMG recently added three new broadcast languages - Irish, Pidgin and Kinyarwanda. With this expansion, the China Global Television Network (CGTN), under CMG, remains the international mainstream media outlet with the widest linguistic reach, operating in 85 languages worldwide.
Today, CGTN has more than 700 million TV users and 600 million viewers on new media worldwide and has established partnerships with more than 4,700 mainstream media entities worldwide. These efforts aim to better present China's image and provide deeper insights into the country's prospects.
On the eve of the commemorative events, CGTN launched a series of in-depth documentaries, thematic programs, reports and commentaries highlighting the great spirit of resistance under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
