The Serbian special event of the „Global Viewing of the Spring Festival Gala“ project, organized by China Media Group (CMG), was held in Belgrade on February 4 local time. Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and General Manager of CMG, addressed the participants via video message.

In his speech, Shen Haixiong said the Spring Festival is a cultural symbol of Chinese civilization with a thousand-year history and a spiritual bond that connects Chinese people around the world. As the largest annual cultural event in the world in terms of viewership, China Media Group's Spring Festival Gala has been an integral part of the New Year celebration for 43 years. It has turned into a kind of „spiritual New Year's dinner“ that evokes strong emotions among Chinese people at home and abroad, while opening a window to global audiences into the depths of Chinese traditional culture and the multifaceted image of China in the new era.
This year's CMG Spring Festival Gala will be broadcast via a network of „thousands of foreign screens“ and will be accompanied by a series of „Global Viewing of the Spring Festival Gala“ events in various countries around the world. This will allow viewers from different regions to intensely experience the atmosphere of joy, prosperity and festive enthusiasm typical of the Spring Festival. The year 2026 marks the beginning of a new stage in China's socio-economic development, and according to Shen Haixiong, the world, along with China, is welcoming a warmer and hope-filled spring.

Serbian national-level singer Slobodan Tegula, who has already appeared at the CMG Spring Festival Gala in 2023, performed during the event in Belgrade. The artist masterfully combined Serbian folk instruments with Chinese traditional music and performed the world-famous Chinese song „Jasmine“. In addition, humanoid robots from China presented dance performances that illustrated the country's technological and innovative achievements in smart technologies.

The event also featured promotional spots for the Year of the Horse Spring Festival Gala, attractive demonstrations of the „Travel China through Film“ project and short documentaries on joint projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, including the lighting of the Hungarian-Serbian railway in Chinese red. These videos elicited a warm response and prolonged applause among the guests.
