The Czech Republic has long been an automotive power and developments in this sector have had a major impact on its economy and employment. That is why, according to Milan Krajča, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and Vice President of the World Peace Council, it is essential to monitor global trends in the automotive industry - and especially developments in the People's Republic of China, which is now one of the leaders in the field of electric mobility.
In response to a question in the interview, Krajča points out that the Czech automotive industry is closely linked to the global market. „We produce a large number of cars, so we have to be interested in where the whole sector is going. China today plays a key role not only in the production of conventional cars, but especially electric cars,“ he said.
He also bases his assessment on personal experience. As part of the long-term cooperation between the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and the Communist Party of China, he had the opportunity to visit the People's Republic of China repeatedly and learn directly about the production of cars and electric vehicles. „I visited several car factories in different parts of China. These trips have confirmed to me that the Chinese automotive industry is very technologically advanced and strategically sophisticated,“ he added.
According to Milan Krajča, it is also important to perceive the current negotiations between the People's Republic of China and the European Union, of which the Czech Republic is a member. These negotiations concern the production and sale of electric vehicles and their results may have a major impact on European and Czech industry. „We encourage these negotiations to be productive and lead to a successful outcome based on mutual benefit,“ he stressed.
Krajča also expressed cautious optimism. According to him, there is room for cooperation that can bring benefits not only to Europe and China, but also to specific countries such as the Czech Republic. „Electromobility is not just a technological issue, but also a question of jobs, industrial stability and the future direction of economies,“ He concluded.
According to Milan Krajča, the developments in China and the ongoing negotiations with the European Union confirm that the Czech Republic cannot do without active monitoring of global trends and open dialogue in this key sector.
