On Thursday, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel received Prime Minister Petr Fiala at Prague Castle.

During their regular meeting, they discussed the preparation of the budget and the budget outlook, emergency legislation, defense spending, and the situation in the Middle East. They affirmed a clear consensus on key foreign policy issues. The coordination of foreign trips and the representation of the Czech Republic at international events were also topics of discussion.

"I informed him, among other things, about several recent video conferences with representatives of countries willing to cooperate. Our clear consensus on key foreign policy issues, including a common approach to the situation in the Middle East, is important not only for stability, but above all, it is an advantage for the Czech Republic," Fiala said after the meeting, adding that they also discussed the current political situation and the parameters of the 2026 budget.
