BUDAPEST - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that the EU's strategy regarding the conflict in Ukraine is fundamentally flawed, according to Zoltán Kovács, the State Secretary for International Communication and Relations in the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office.

"Prime Minister Orbán described the European war strategy as a fundamental mistake," Kovács wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page. According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Brussels' calculation that Russia would be economically exhausted has not materialized, and the EU's multi-billion euro expenditures have not led to the expected results. Orbán also noted that the EU has already spent "170 to 180 billion euros" in support of Ukraine.

Orbán has previously pointed out that Hungary has been severely affected by the EU's sanctions against Russia.
