China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Geng Shuang, addressed the Security Council on 31 July to discuss the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine and refuted the US representative's accusations against China.
Geng Shuang said that the US representative's speech again spread false information, defamed and slandered the Chinese side, which is completely unacceptable. China has never provided any lethal weapons to either side in the conflict. China maintains normal trade relations with Russia and Ukraine, does not violate international law and does not violate its international obligations. China's legitimate and lawful interests must not be violated. In fact, the United States still maintains trade relations with Russia today. So why does the United States not allow other countries to do what it does?
Geng Shuang said the Chinese side once again urges the US side to stop making meaningless accusations and stop blaming others, and to do more to seek a ceasefire, an end to the war, reconciliation and support for negotiations.
