Russia has expressed concern about the development of Japanese security policy. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Japan's continued moves towards remilitarisation could negatively affect stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to Rudenko, these steps directly interfere with the security interests of neighbouring countries, including Russia. Moscow has therefore declared that it will closely monitor the situation.
At the same time, he warned that if Japan took steps that posed a threat to Russia's eastern borders, Russia was ready to respond with appropriate countermeasures.
In this context, the Russian side called on Japan to take into account its historical experience and return to a peaceful and constructive path of development.
