Chinese Premier Li Qiang stressed China's support for Arab countries in strengthening strategic autonomy, unity and development tailored to their national conditions during a meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit.

Li Qiang highlighted that relations between China and Arab countries are at the highest level, and China is committed to deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, investment, aerospace and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy. He also stressed the need to continue the high-quality projects of the Belt and Road Initiative and to strengthen people-to-people cultural, educational and tourism exchanges.

Li Qiang also expressed readiness to coordinate with Arab countries on global platforms such as the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the G20 to promote fairer global governance. He stressed the need for successful preparations for the second China-Arab Summit scheduled for next year.

Aboul-Gheit affirmed that China is a trusted friend and partner, appreciating China's support for the economic and social development of Arab countries. He reiterated the Arab countries' firm support for the One China principle, the Belt and Road Initiative and China's global initiatives. The Arab side is committed to deepening political trust, trade, investment and people-to-people relations within the framework of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum. Aboul-Gheit also praised China's consistent support at multilateral platforms and expressed willingness to strengthen coordination to uphold multilateralism and promote world peace and development.
