The German segment of the global dialogue "China in Spring: China's Development Opportunities for the World" took place on Tuesday in Düsseldorf, the capital of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The event was co-organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Consulate General in Düsseldorf.
Shen Haixiong, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of CMG, delivered a video message. Yu Yong, Chinese Consul General in Düsseldorf, Rainer Schmeltzer, First Vice-President of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Parliament, and Julia Jacob, First Deputy Mayor of Essen, attended the event and gave speeches. The event attracted more than 100 guests from the fields of politics, business, academia, and media.
Shen stated that during this year's "Two Sessions," President Xi Jinping emphasized expanding high-quality opening-up, utilizing global markets, and deepening engagement in the world economy, thereby reaffirming China's firm commitment to further opening up to the world. According to Shen, China's plan for high-quality development brings new opportunities for the entire world.
"As the largest and most comprehensive international media group with the broadest range of activities, CMG is ready to leverage its strengths in integrated communication, technological innovation, and media resources," he said. He added that CMG will help share the benefits of China's modernization with the world, bring new opportunities to global partners, build innovation platforms for technologies serving humanity, and jointly create a new vision of human civilization in which cultures coexist harmoniously.
Yu emphasized that the proposal for China's 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development outlines a strategic framework for the country's development over the next five years, confirming its stable institutional advantages and expressing strong confidence in the stable and long-term growth of the Chinese economy. According to him, this plan will create a new environment of institutional opening for German companies, provide impetus for the industrial transformation and technological progress of Germany, offer new opportunities for energy transformation and green development, open up broader markets for German industry, and strengthen the global importance of China-Germany relations.
Schmeltzer stated that North Rhine-Westphalia, one of the most populous and economically strongest states in Germany, has long been developing close and fruitful cooperation with a number of Chinese provinces in the areas of trade, science, and people-to-people exchanges. He emphasized that the friendship between Germany and China continues to strengthen over time. According to him, this year's "Two Sessions" once again sent a clear signal to the world: China will continue to open up and cooperate, strive for mutually beneficial outcomes, and shared development.
He added that in the current complex international environment, mutual understanding and communication are more important than ever, and openness and dialogue should be the main pillars of international cooperation. "It is clear that through open exchange of views, mutual understanding, and practical cooperation, Germany and China will further strengthen their relations and contribute to peace and development in the world," he said.
The event also featured the premiere of the program "A Book of Diverse Crafts: Innovation Driven by Artificial Intelligence," a flagship project of CMG focused on industrial culture. A humanoid robot from China gave a live performance, showcasing advancements in intelligent manufacturing and receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience. CMG
