Chinese and US delegations began talks on economic and trade issues in the Spanish capital Madrid on 14 September.
In the coming days, the two sides will discuss issues such as unilateral U.S. tariffs, abusive export controls and TikTok, a Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman said on September 12.
The Chinese delegation is led by Vice Premier He Lifeng, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
China's position on the TikTok issue is clear and consistent, the spokesman said. China is firmly committed to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises and will address the TikTok issue in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
