In the Chinese city of Changzhou, a unique event premiered on Sunday: the CMG World Robot Contest: Mech Combat Arena Competition, the first-ever competition of humanoid robot battles. The robot "AI Strategist," controlled by Lu Xin, emerged as the winner after thrilling matches.

The competition began with an exhibition match, followed by intense rounds. Each match consisted of three two-minute rounds, with points awarded for accurate strikes: 1 point for punches, and 3 points for kicks. Strikes to the head and torso were crucial – a knockdown resulted in a loss of 5 points, and failure to get up within 8 seconds led to disqualification.

Match Highlights:

  • In the first match between "AI Strategist" and "Silk Artisan," the latter initially had the upper hand with agile kicks. However, the decisive moment came in the third round when "AI Strategist" delivered a powerful knee strike, knocking the opponent to the ground.
  • The second match pitted "Armored Mulan" against "Energy Guardian." The latter scored a knockdown in the first round and advanced thanks to a consistent performance.
  • Finals: In the grand finale, "AI Strategist" completely dominated "Energy Guardian," securing the championship title with a series of knockouts in all three rounds.

The competition was broadcast live around the world, with experts commenting on the principles of movement control and decision-making in real-time during the battles.

This event is part of the CMG World Robot Competition Series, which will also feature robotic soccer and basketball. The series aims to connect science, culture, and tourism, showcasing the latest technologies in an engaging and educational format.
