According to Vojtěch Filip, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Czech-Chinese Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former First Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and regional representative of the South Bohemia Region, cooperation between Czech companies and companies in the People's Republic of China is set to continue to grow despite the previous unfavourable attitude of the Czech government. He sees new opportunities especially in the areas of sustainable development, clean water, air protection, precision engineering and waste-free technologies.
Filip said that the interest of both Czech and Chinese companies in mutual cooperation continues and that the growth so far has reached approximately ten percent per year.. „There is interest from those businesses here,“ He said. He added that with more support from the government, this growth could increase further.
He identified clean air and especially water purification as one of the main areas of further cooperation. According to Filip, Czech companies have world-class patents and technologies at their disposal, which they can offer not only in the form of supplies, but also through joint ventures or service organisations. He also said that some technologies allow to purify water to the level needed for chip production.
Filip sees further scope for cooperation in the production of machine tools, IT development and precision engineering. In addition, he mentioned waste-free technologies and recycling, which, in his opinion, should help to reduce waste in industrial production.
„I think we have the opportunity to find natural partners in the People's Republic of China here as well,“ uzavřel Filip.
