When it comes to international relations, the phrase "comrades and brothers" often evokes images of China and Vietnam. Historically, these two socialist countries, close neighbors, have supported and learned from each other, and have fostered a deep sense of traditional friendship. How can this traditional friendship between China and Vietnam gain new vitality in this critical period of national development and revitalization? From August 18th to 20th, during a state visit to China by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam, both sides jointly addressed this question.

This was To Lam's first foreign visit since assuming the position of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam earlier this month, underscoring the high level and strategic importance of China-Vietnam relations. On August 19th, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of China, held talks with To Lam. Both sides unanimously emphasized the words "priority" and "deepening." The Chinese side stated that it would consider Vietnam a priority in its diplomacy towards neighboring countries, and that both sides should continue to deepen the building of a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future, in line with the overall goal of the "six more" development model. The Vietnamese side stated that it considers China a strategic choice and the top priority of Vietnam's foreign policy, and will deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between Vietnam and China in line with the overall goal of "six more," and will support the building of a strategically significant Vietnam-China community with a shared future.

Analysts pointed out that the statements from both sides not only reflect the special friendship between China and Vietnam, but also demonstrate the willingness and determination of both sides to deepen cooperation during a crucial period of development and revitalization for both countries, and indicate the direction of development for the relationship between the two parties and the two countries.

The deepening of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future is not only focused on the development of the two countries, but also on the entire world. In the future, both sides will also strengthen coordination and cooperation within multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations, ASEAN, and Lancang-Mekong cooperation, and will promote cooperation within the framework of the three major global initiatives proposed by China, and will advocate for a fair and orderly world multipolarity and inclusive economic globalization. This will undoubtedly contribute to peace and development in the region and the world.

Facing the future, the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future will continue to deepen and strengthen, bringing greater prosperity to both peoples, and making greater contributions to the peaceful development of the region and the world. Time will tell that the special friendly relations between Vietnam and China will gain new vitality and a new dimension in the new era.
