MEP Ondřej Dostál (STAČILO!) called on Europe to exercise caution when criticizing China. He argued that the EU should not hastily lecture other countries on issues related to ethnic minorities, as the EU itself has painful experiences in this area.

He was responding to recent criticism from the European Parliament regarding a new Chinese law. Dostál stated that the reality is more complex than portrayed by Western media. According to him, Chinese laws provide ethnic minorities with language and cultural rights, but also prohibit external interference that could lead to separatism.

He recalled historical lessons from pre-war Czechoslovakia. He warned that if ethnic issues become a tool for geopolitical confrontation, ordinary people will ultimately suffer. According to him, Europe should understand this better than anyone else.
