On 27 January, Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun held a video call with Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov. During the conversation, the two sides discussed the further development of Sino-Russian defence cooperation.
Dong Jun recalled that this year is an important year for China-Russia relations. It marks 30 years since the establishment of the strategic partnership of cooperation and 25 years since the signing of the Treaty of Good Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries.
In his words, the Chinese side is ready, together with Russia, to consistently implement key agreements reached at the highest level, further strengthen strategic coordination, expand areas of cooperation and improve mechanisms for mutual exchanges. The aim is to enhance the ability of both countries to face various risks and challenges while jointly contributing to strengthening global security and stability.
