A survey conducted by CGTN gathered responses from 3,895 participants in 10 representative European countries. Respondents expressed positive views on China's modernization achievements, expressed optimism about the current state and future of China-EU relations, and urged European countries to engage with China and support multilateralism.
Respondents demonstrate a favorable sentiment towards China
Out of the 10 countries surveyed, 7 recorded a favorable rating towards China above 50 percent, with respondents aged 25-34 expressing the highest level of goodwill (76.1%). According to the survey, respondents applaud China's economic and technological progress: 86 percent of respondents describe the Chinese economy as "strong"; 73.1 percent of respondents believe in China's long-term economic prospects; 78.1 percent of respondents recognize China's ability to produce original innovations; and 81.5 percent of respondents praise the significant contribution of Chinese technologies to global markets.
More than 60 percent of respondents say that trade with China is beneficial
All 10 countries agree that trade with China brings benefits, with an average level of agreement of 65.2 percent, with the highest support coming from Spain (73.3%), Serbia (72%), and the United Kingdom (70.7%). Respondents from the United Kingdom (72.1%), Germany (64%), and France (63) strongly support maintaining healthy economic ties with China. Furthermore, 67.3 percent of respondents recognize the vast Chinese market as a key opportunity for European businesses.
