GYEONG - On the afternoon of October 31st, local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a written speech titled "Playing a Leading Role in the Asia-Pacific Region and Promoting Global Development and Prosperity" at the APEC CEO Summit, which was held in Gyeongju, South Korea.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the current international situation is chaotic and complex, and the world is at a new crossroads. The direction we choose will profoundly affect the future of the world. All parties should demonstrate vision and responsibility, and make decisions that meet the expectations of the people in the Asia-Pacific region and can stand the test of history.

Xi emphasized that China has always been a defender of the current international order and a practitioner of true multilateralism.

Xi Jinping noted that APEC was established in response to the wave of economic globalization, with the aim of promoting trade and investment liberalization, and fostering economic growth and prosperity. All parties should re-examine their original intentions and make significant contributions to the world through more dynamic and resilient Asia-Pacific cooperation.
