China has strongly protested against the "Taiwan Discrimination Prevention Act," which has passed the U.S. House of Representatives. According to Beijing, this is a blatant interference in internal affairs and a dangerous support for separatism.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning described the move as "unjustified and harmful," and pointed out that Taiwan has no right to join organizations intended for sovereign states, including the International Monetary Fund.

“There is only one China, and Taiwan is an integral part of it,” Mao emphasized, adding that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate representative of the entire China.

The law, which supports Taiwan's membership in the IMF, according to Beijing, violates the "One China" principle and three joint Sino-American communiqués, which form the basis of relations between the two countries.

Mao urged the United States to stop using the Taiwan issue to interfere in China's internal affairs and to stop giving false hope to separatist forces.

“If the U.S. continues to support separatism under the guise of international cooperation, it will bear full responsibility for the consequences,” the spokesperson warned.

Tensions between Beijing and Washington continue to rise, with Taiwan remaining one of the most sensitive geopolitical flashpoints in the world today.
