The Tianzhou-9 cargo ship carrying key supplies for China's Tiangong space station took off from the Wenchang spaceport on Tuesday morning. The mission reinforces China's ambitions in space and confirms Beijing's technological maturity in the field of manned spaceflight.
At 5:34 a.m. Beijing time, the Long March-7 Y10 rocket lifted off with the Tianzhou-9 cargo ship. After ten minutes, the ship successfully separated from the carrier, deployed its solar panels and entered its designated orbit. The Chinese space agency CMSA confirmed that the launch was fully successful.
Tianzhou-9 will deliver vital supplies to orbit - fuel, experimental equipment and crew supplies. It will then make an automatic connection with the Tiangong Space Station's combination of modules.
This is the fourth cargo mission under the application phase of China's space programme. It is also the 584th flight of the Long March series launch vehicle, underscoring China's growing continuity and reliability in space logistics.
