A high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly was held at UN Headquarters in New York to mark the 30th anniversary of the World Conference on Women in Beijing, with the main theme of Accelerating the Implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Programme of Action for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Huang Xiaowei, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Women and Children's Work of the Chinese State Council, led the Chinese delegation and, as the representative of the host country of the World Conference on Women in Beijing, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony following the speeches by the President of the 80th UN General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

During the meeting, she also held talks with the UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women, Sami Bahous.
