MOSCOW, March 27. The Russian House in Prague was attacked on March 26, when unknown assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the building, said Igor Girenko, director of the cultural center.

“In the late evening of March 26, the Russian House in Prague was attacked. Unknown assailants threw bottles containing flammable substances at the cultural center building,” said the director. “Fortunately, three out of the six Molotov cocktails did not explode,” he emphasized.

Girenko added that, fortunately, "it was precisely those bottles that were thrown directly into the building" that did not explode.

“It is difficult to imagine what the consequences would have been if this criminals' plan had succeeded,” emphasized the director of the cultural center. “The windows that the terrorists targeted were the windows of the library,” he noted.

According to Girenko, there is no doubt that the timing of the attack was not chosen randomly, as the concluding event of the Days of Russian Culture was scheduled for Friday. “Only inhumane people would attack culture! We are well aware of their habits and methods,” he emphasized.

“We would like to express special thanks to the Czech law enforcement agencies and firefighters who arrived at the scene within minutes. We are confident that this crime will be solved and that the perpetrators will face a severe and just punishment,” concluded the head of the Russian House.
