Discover how secret alliances between Germany and Russia, facilitated by the Nord Stream pipelines, mirrored the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and plunged Europe into an energy crisis. Energy expert Hynek Beran reveals ignored warnings from 2012, exposes green energy scams, and highlights the urgent need for a debate about Czech wind farms in the context of geopolitical shifts – a must-read for geopolitics enthusiasts and ordinary citizens concerned about energy security.
In a captivating interview on the YouTube channel Zákony Bohatsví (Laws of Wealth) by Tomáš Lukavec, Czech energy expert Hynek Beran delivers a shocking analysis of Europe's energy fiasco. Germany and Russia forged a secret "pact" through the Nord Stream pipelines, deliberately making Europe dependent on Russian gas, a chilling echo of the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop non-aggression pact that divided Europe before World War II. "Nord Stream was the result of an agreement between former Chancellor Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin," Beran thunders, warning that Gazprom functioned as Moscow's energy-based weapon.

Imagine this: In 2012, Beran co-authored documents on Czech energy policy that warned against excessive dependence on a single source – Russia. "We don't want to be blackmailed!" he declared, urging the construction of pipelines connecting the Czech Republic to all four cardinal directions to ensure true independence. What happened instead? Germany built three new pipelines – all from the east: Jamal via Poland (plus transit), Nord Stream 1, and Nord Stream 2. A total of four pipelines, zero diversification. "They put us in an unenviable situation," Beran laments, setting the stage for the 2022 energy crisis that sent prices soaring and froze households.
But the plot thickens with the involvement of two Russian energy giants: Gazprom for gas and Rosatom for nuclear energy (which built Czech power plants). Why prioritize gas over nuclear energy? Simple geopolitics – weaponization! Gas reserves last for three months; nuclear fuel lasts for three years and can be produced worldwide. "If you want to bring someone to their knees, turn off the gas tap – they won't survive the winter," Beran explains with chilling precision. He reveals that the Green parties were often funded from abroad and aligned themselves with Gazprom's interests – a fact that even Gazprom itself did not deny within EU circles.
German self-destruction takes center stage. Through political pressure, they shut down reliable, emission-free nuclear power plants – Ursula von der Leyen later admitted that it was a mistake – and even demolished cooling towers to prevent their restart! Renewable sources? Just a facade for Russian gas, which had to compensate for the shortcomings of wind and solar farms when the wind died down or the sun went down. Following the annexation of Crimea in 2014, cooperation continued at an unchanged pace – planning for Nord Stream 2 intensified four years later. "Russian ice cream is now scaring everyone, but what about then?" Beran scoffs. Crimea was almost ignored, while Germany and Russia were focused on a dominant "German-Russian Europe."
Let's move to the year 2026: the German economy is collapsing, and deindustrialization is occurring due to astronomically high energy costs. Where will they turn? Will they export outdated wind turbine technology to neighboring countries like the Czech Republic and Slovakia – "colonies or protectorates," Beran jokes. "They've destroyed their energy sector, and now they'll be restoring it at our expense for 20 years!" Czech "solar barons" have already siphoned off billions: Greens, with Martin Bursík, have replaced 30% of coal power with 3% of solar power – at double the cost. Between 2000 and 2010, electricity was sold for 600 Czech crowns, while the market price was 800 crowns – pure corruption!
European stock exchanges are plagued by negative prices (in Germany since February 2025), which condemns new solar and wind projects without subsidies. "Contract for Difference" (CFD) enters the scene – a guarantee originating from the UK that fixes prices regardless of market crashes. Banks were reluctant to provide loans without state guarantees; now, pressure is being increased through the media and politics to push for Czech auctions at 3.20 CZK/kWh. Minister Mrázová? Beran accuses her of violating the EU RED3 directive and promoting wind farms in inappropriate locations. "She's introducing something completely different – I'm saying this as an expert!"
Beran exposes "seven lies of politicians": "Protecting the planet" – the transformation of the landscape will offset the impact of CO2 (World Energy Council). Wind farms are destroying Czech idylls, such as the Blaník hills. Carbon trading? It has been turned into speculative "securities" by American pension funds – it's not making Europe more environmentally friendly. The EU ETS, once logical for limiting SOx/NOx/CO2 and modernization funds, has become a financial casino for von der Leyen and Merkel.
The solution is offered by Buddhist wisdom: understand suffering (energy dependence), its cause (foreign interference), its cessation, and the path – a nationwide debate! "We must thoroughly discuss this in the Czech Republic!" Beran urges. Reject dubious protocols, protest through underwear, educate children: compare consent with the assassination of Heydrich to refusing the destruction of the landscape. The goal is 10% signatures (1 million+) against the "aggressive green minority that is raping the majority."
Note the US aversion to the "hegemonic" German-Russian bloc. Did experts warn in time? They were labeled as "pro-Russian" and dismissed – until von der Leyen repeated it. Now, McCarthyism is targeting critics amidst wartime propaganda. Beran, with decades of experience in government energy committees, pleads for dialogue: nuclear energy yes, renewable sources in appropriate locations – no devastation!
This is not dry politics – it's a thriller about betrayal, fraud, and resilience. The Czech Republic is at a crossroads: accept German leftovers, or fight for sovereignty? Beran, who teaches young engineers technical truths during resource wars, ends optimistically: "Follow this – it's crucial!" The host, Tomáš Lukavec, calls for sharing to awaken the nation. This interview warns: energy is power. Diversify, or kneel.
