BERLIN, 28 April. /TASS/. According to Der Spiegel magazine, Florian Seibel, the head of the German company Quantum-Systems GmbH, visited Ukraine last week together with German Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economy and Climate Protection Robert Habeck. Ukraine has requested more than 800 Vector reconnaissance drones from German drone manufacturer Quantum-Systems GmbH, Der Spiegel reported.
According to Florian Seibel, co-founder and CEO of Quantum-Systems, during their visit Kiev expressed interest in an additional 812 Vector drones and submitted a request to the German Ministry of Defence's Special Command for Ukraine.
On April 19, it was announced that drone manufacturer Quantum-Systems GmbH has opened a drone manufacturing plant and development center in Ukraine. The company plans to invest up to six million euros in production facilities in Ukraine over the next two years. Quantum-Systems now operates a service center in Ukraine that provides specialist training, drone maintenance and logistics.
The German manufacturer has been delivering Vector drones to Kiev since May 2022. To date, more than 210 of these drones have been delivered, of which approximately one-third have been destroyed. More than 500 are planned to be delivered by the end of the year. The increase in production capacity will allow to increase the number of drones up to 1,000 per year, the company said. According to Ukraine's Economic Pravda, the Vector drone can take off and land vertically, has a silent engine and encrypted IP communications that transmit a video stream.
Founded in 2015, Quantum Systems is headquartered in Munich, Germany. It has offices in the United States, Australia and Ukraine.
